WW2: Corregidor Philippines Battle Fortress

World War 2- Corregidor is an island in the entrance of the Philippines' Manila Bay. Due to its position in the bay, it has served as a focal point for the naval defenses of the capital city of Manila. During World War II, Corregidor was the site of several battles and its fall to the Japanese forces was instrumental in the subsequent capture of the Philippines and the retreat of the United States in the early stages of the war. Currently, it is an important historic and tourist site and is managed under the jurisdiction of Cavite City.
The island is about 48 kilometers west of Manila. It is shaped like a sperm, with its tail running eastward, and has a land area of 9 km². Along with Caballo (which lies 2 km south of the "tail's" tip), it partially blocks the entrance to Manila Bay, and thus has strategic importance. It also creates a northern and southern entrance to the bay.
Because of its rocky landscape and the fortifications of Fort Mills, the island was also known as "the Rock".

World War 2 - In World War 2 drugs were used to help soldiers obtain the stamina and the agility they need for battles and to survive the exhaustion of war. Of course most of us thought that they used drugs to cure psychological related problems of the soldiers cause by too much stress in the battlefields and due to war shocks and trauma.  In reality during World War 2 many military used forbidden drugs to give their soldiers the alertness they need to fight till the last breath. Performance-enhancing amphetamines were used the armed forces of several countries' during World War II. The rumors of preparations is much more widespread than the knowledge of it.

Life in the trenches during World War 1

World War 1 - The trench war could be something that the modern military today would say "A strategy that wasted so much time, money and lives".  There were thousands of men died on the trenches and some of these men haven't fired a single bullet.  What was the life of the soldier during World War 1, how was their life during the Trench War?   I have found these interesting article that explains the agony and death of both the British and German soldiers during the Trench War in World War 1.

During World War 1 there Motorcycles existed but no one dares to use it for Warfare there were some used bikes for transport, but not like in World War 2 motorbikes were used in all fronts.  Motorcycles contributed a lot and served as carriers to as simple as telegrams, letters and even used to patrol conquered cities and towns. Police during World War 2 used motor bikes in handling their patrols and police matters. There were thousands of motor bikes invented during 1940's to handle the harsh environment and hostile areas in Europe and Pacific fronts. The Germans used the maneuverability of military motorcycles and they used the motor bikes for tactical assault, which the Americans used later on the War.

Philippines most modern warship for West Philippine Sea

World War Stories - The Philippine Government has just acquired one of the powerful communication vessels of the US Coast Guard the question now is "Can Philippine Government protect their West Philippine Sea against the rising super power, China?  The Philippine would always an underdog from whatever conflict that could possibly on the Spratly issue, but at least the country has guts to protect their rights and property from any invaders.  The Philippine Navy is ready to deploy their new flagship  BRP Gregorio Del Pilar  its the biggest and most modern ship to date for the Philippine Navy. The Gregorio Del Pilar is scheduled to be commissioned on December 14 at the Manila South Harbor Pier 13, with President Benigno Aquino III leading the ceremony.
 
The Navy vessel's name is from  one of the youngest generals who fought in the Philippine Revolution against colonial Spain. He was killed in the famed Battle of Tirad Pass during the Philippine-American War at age 24.
The Gregorio Del Pilar is a weather high endurance cutter which the Philippine Navy acquired from the US Coast Guard last July. It is armed and combat-ready.
