World War 2- World War II was the advent of developing of remarkable transportation to transport equipment, supplies and men to the fronts. During World War 1 there Motorcycles existed but no one dares to use it for Warfare there were some used bikes for transport, but not like in World War 2 motorbikes were used in all fronts.  Motorcycles contributed a lot and served as carriers to as simple as telegrams, letters and even used to patrol conquered cities and towns. Police during World War 2 used motor bikes in handling their patrols and police matters. There were thousands of motor bikes invented during 1940's to handle the harsh environment and hostile areas in Europe and Pacific fronts. The Germans used the maneuverability of military motorcycles and they used the motor bikes for tactical assault, which the Americans used later on the War.

Harley Davidson

Harley Davidson answered the call by producing a motorcycles to withstand the harsh African deserts and weather in the Pacific. Harley Davidson produced some 90,000 or more military motor bikes during the War.
Two versions of the 1942 Harley-Davidson were manufactured for military use during World War II, the WLA and the XA.  Although both were designed for battle, only the WLA saw action during World War II

BMW

During the BMW introduces the R 75 model, which was designed for the German War troops in the front. Weighing a whopping 925 pounds, the R 75 featured 750 cc engine, large gas tank, two seats and a sidecar. It could also be fitted with a machine gun. The model is very popular and can handle harsh weather conditions.
The U.S. Army is impressed with the R 75 so the captured German bikes are sent back for Harley-Davidson  to copy.

Birmingham Small Arms Company

BSA was England's largest motorcycle manufacturer with a long history of armaments supply to the armed forces. The have developed the M20 model which was highly used by the British Military during World War II.  Majority of BSA M20 motorcycles were used by the British Army and  the Britain's Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force also commissioned M20's from BSA. The M20 was designed was created as a general-purpose motorcycle for escort and dispatch use, the M20 had witnessed action both Europe and Pacific theaters.
