World War Stories - Our Article for today will give importance on the rising of Juvenile delinquency in the Philippines and the Philippine Government is making ways to battle this kind of social problem.Author: Mark Pernia
Juvenile delinquency- refers to participation in illegal behavior by a minor who falls under a statutory age limit or some would say a crime committed by minors.
We often hear in the news children unbelievably committing crimes such as theft, robbery, and murder. Undeniably crimes committed by minors have gone up through the years. In fact, in the Philippines it have doubled in the past couple of years due to the fact that those criminal elements know that under the new law these minors have no criminal liability. But sadly, it is one thing that societies have failed to address. It prompts the question why does it occur? What drives these minors to commit various crimes? It is my opinion that it is because of three things: 1) Poverty, 2) Low sense of Morality, and 3) Lack of proper guidance and care of society and parents. As such, government and society in general should unite to deal with such issues so as to eradicate or at the very least start decreasing the number of minors committing crimes.
